Since 2014, ACTS University has produced and performed 6 theodramas. Each theodrama production is essentially a “theology on stage,” expressing biblical-theological and missional drama through a variety of movement and theatrical means such as music, dance, mime, acting, improvisation, design, and media. It is a joint project under the direction/ choreography of Professor Daniel Kim, with the amateur performers consisting of the international students and Korean undergraduate students, and those who are serving in the areas of administration and technical support.
ACTS University was invited to perform a 30-minute theodrama at the “4th Lausanne Congress” to be held at Incheon Songdo Convensia in September 2024. Significantly, there exists an intimate relationship between the Lausanne Movement and ACTS University. Both organizations were birthed in 1974 as a result of the evangelical movement and global missionary vision. Presently, our students are diligently (and prayerfully) preparing to perform in front of some 5,000 international leaders who will be attending this conference.
아신대학교(ACTS)에서는 2014년부터 여섯 차례의 떼오드라마 제작 및 공연을 진행해 왔습니다. 떼오드라마 프로덕션은 음악, 댄스, 마임, 연기, 즉흥표현, 디자인 및 미디어와 같은 다양한 무브먼트와 연극적 방식을 통해 성경적-신학적, 그리고 선교적 드라마를 표현하는 “무대 위에서의 신학(theology on stage)” 과정입니다. 특히 김다니엘 교수의 감독/안무에 맞추어 국제대학원학생들과 한국학부학생들로 구성된 아마추어 공연자들과 행정과 테크-서포트로 섬겨 주신 이들의 공동 프로젝트이었습니다.
2024년 9월 말에 인천 송도 컨벤시아에서 진행될 “4차 로잔대회(4th Lausanne Congress)”에 아신대학교가 초대를 받아 30분 떼오드라마 공연을 하게 되었습니다. 로잔운동과 아신대학교와는 민첩한 관계가 있습니다. 이 두 기관은 동일하게 1974년에 복음주의 운동에서 탄생하여 국제적 선교비전을 지닌 기관입니다. 이 대회에 참석하는 5-6천명의 국제 리더들 앞에서 본교 학생들은 공연을 하기 위하여 열심히 기도하며 준비를 하고 있습니다.

DESCRIPTION
Imago is a Latin term which means “image.” The theme of the Theodrama IMAGO is that only in Christ can all humanity and diverse social realms be united and transformed into the image of the Body of Christ. IMAGO essentially highlights the biblical-theological concepts from Genesis to Revelation (creation, fall, salvation, reconciliation, union) and expresses them through various artistic means (music, dance, mime, acting, design, media). Through this performance, you as the audience can experience the Word of God coming alive in a dynamic way on stage.
IMAGO production is a joint project of the ACTS University Community and Imago Christi Studio. It is a multi-arts production participated by both the Korean undergraduate students and the international graduate students of ACTS University. These students are amateurs, not professionals, but they have discovered their potentials in their particular artistic areas and have passionately and prayerfully prepared for this performance.

The following drama was featured as a part of the Communion Service during M.Div. Student Chapel (2016 Spring Semester) at Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission (ACTS University).
The drama, based on the original idea, script, and choreography by Professor Daniel J. Kim, was performed by 9 international graduate students and 5 undergraduate students.
The participating students are all amateurs, not professionals, who have humbly and diligently practiced, and prayerfully prepared for this drama presentation.
The drama, presented through narration and movements, is in essence the sacramental Word expressed through audible and visual means.
“‘보이는 말씀’의 의미 극대화한 고난주간 성찬예배 드려”
지난 3월 24일(목), ACTS University는 학부생 700여명과 외국인 학생 70여명이 참석한 목요 주간예배 시간과 신대원생 200여명이 참석한 목요 야간예배 시간에, ‘듣는 말씀’에 집중하였던 평소의 예배와는 달리 ‘보이는 말씀’에 집중한다는 성찬식의 본래 의미를 극대화시키는 예배를 기획하였다.
이 날 예배는 떼제찬양이 울려 퍼지는 가운데, ‘최후의 만찬’에 관한 20여점의 성화를 감상하고 묵상하는 가운데 자연스럽게 시작되었다. 세계 각국의 다양한 인종적 배경을 가진 화가들에 의해서 그려진 이 성화들은 참석한 이들로 하여금 “열방아 주님을 찬양하여라”는 떼제찬양과 예배당 한 가운데 진열된 떡과 포도주와 어우러져 온 인류를 위해 자신을 희생하신 주님께 마음을 열게 하였다.
또한 새로웠던 것은 성찬식 이전에 ‘듣는 말씀’ 순서가 없었다는 점이다. 그 대신 성찬의 메시지를 담은 드라마를 통해 ‘보이는 말씀’을 선포하였다. 각 나라의 학생들로 구성된 드라마팀은 ‘COMMUNIO’라는 제목의 성극을 통해 예수의 성육신에서부터 인간으로서의 성장, 십자가의 죽음과 부활, 그리고 하나님 우편에 오르심과 성령을 보내심까지를 드라마로 재현하였다. 그리고 오늘 성령의 역사를 통해 우리가 어떻게 성찬을 통해 그리스도와 연합하고 교회가 하나됨에 이르는지 드라마를 통해 메시지화했다.
드라마를 통해 선포된 ‘보이는 말씀’ 순서 후에는 성찬식이 이어졌다. 김영욱 총장과 교수들은 전체 7개의 테이블에 마련된 떡과 포도주를 학생 한사람 한사람에게 직접 나누어 주며 주님의 식탁으로 학생들을 초대하였다. 성찬예배에 참석한 학생들은 말 그대로 ‘보이는 말씀’에 집중할 수 있는 성찬예배였다고 입을 모았다. 뿐만 아니라, 성찬 신학을 이해하는 데에도 큰 도움이 되었으며, 앞으로 교회에서 성찬예배를 드릴 때 적용하고 싶은 부분이 많았다고 평가했다.
이 날 전체 예배를 기획한 김다니엘 교수는 2014년, 학생들과 “IMAGO”라는 90여분 가량의 드라마로 선보여 구속사 전체에 흐르는 신학을 표현했고, 2015년도에는 “PROPHETICA”라는 설교 드라마로도 표현한 바 있다.

THEODRAMA “RESURRECTIO” Video of Live Performance Presented at Produced by Performed by Directed & Choreographed by Copyright © 2017 Imago Christi Studio The choreography by Professor Daniel Kim, based on his inspiration of Ezekiel 37, depicts the revival of the body of Christ as it is united with Christ in His crucifixion and resurrection. We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we will certainly also be united with Him in a resurrection like His. (Rom 6:4-5) Scene 1: Spiritual Death of Saints* Scene 2: Ministry of the Word and Spirit Scene 3: Spiritual Revival of Saints Scene 4: Procession of the Body of Christ Scene 5: Crucifixion and Resurrection *Distorted Types of Spirituality : (1) Legalistic, (2) Licentious, (3) Delusional, (4) Rationalistic-Talkative, (5) Double-minded, (6) Over-zealous 이 안무에 숨겨진 가장 중심적인 개념은 “Corpus Christi”(라틴어로 “그리스도의 몸”이라는 뜻)입니다. “Corpus Christi”는 양면성이 있는데, 하나는 실제 그리스도의 몸,다른 하나는 공동체인 그리스도의 몸, 즉 교회를 의미합니다. 특별히 십자가의 행진은 총 24명으로 구성 된 그리스도의 몸으로 진행되는데, 예수님의 죽음과 부활에 동참한다는 의미를 포함하고 있습니다. 그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라. 만일 우리가 그의 죽으심과 같은 모양으로 연합한 자가 되었으면 또한 그의 부활과 같은 모양으로 연합한 자도 되리라. THEODRAMA “MISSIO” Video of Video Recording Performance Presented at Produced by Performed by Directed & Choreographed by Copyright © 2020 Imago Christi Studio 아신대학교(ACTS University)는 2014년 부터 “Theodrama”라는 공연예술 장르, 즉 신학적 연극을 연구/실험하여 무대에 올리는 운동을 시작하였다. Theodrama는 아신대학교 학부생들과 국제대학원생들이 참여하는 종합예술(음악, 댄스, 마임, 연기, 디자인, 미디어 등) 아마추어 프로덕션이다. 2020년에는 “MISSIO”라는 대규모의 떼오드라마를 공연하기 위하여 기획 중이다. 총 감독과 안무를 맡은 김다니엘 교수는 MISSIO 프로덕션을 통하여 “선교” 주제를 신학적, 역사적, 그리고 전략적 관점에서 무대공연예술 방식으로 다루어 본교의 아시아복음화와 세계선교 비전에 접목시킬 계획이다. 코로나바이러스 사태로 인하여 7월에 첫 공연은 다큐멘터리 녹화를 위한 것이고 실제 공연은 ACTS University 대강당과 몇 대표적인 한국교회에서 선보일 예정이다. 선교의 근원은 삼위일체 하나님이다. 그러므로 무대 위에 삼위의 선교적 역할을 표현함으로 공연이 시작된다. 하나님 아버지는 로고스인 아들과 성령으로 선교 사명을 그의 선택하신 대리자들에게 위임한다. 하나님의 대리자들은 다양한 민족들, 종교들, 그리고 세대들을 배경으로 삼아 역사적, 그리고 문화적 여정을 한다. 현시대에 들어와서 이들은 도시화/글로벌화된 사회(물질주의, 경쟁주의, 쾌락주의, 신비주의, 테크노주의)를 접근한다. 이들은 특히 사이버 스페이스와 가상 현실에 사로잡힌 젊은 영혼들을 구속하기 위하여 하나님의 친밀한 터치로 다가간다. 마지막 장면에는 주님이 그의 대리자들을 통하여 불신자들을 변화시키고 선교관점도 변화시키는 변혁선교로 마무리한다. 커뮤니오 2023은 Reah International이 주최한 Empower Korea 2023 컨퍼런스에서 성찬식의 일부로 선보인 떼오드라마입니다. Daniel J. Kim 교수의 독창적인 아이디어와 대본, 안무를 기반으로 한 떼오드라마는 10명의 국제 대학원생과 ACTS 교수의 두 딸이 출연했습니다. 참여하는 학생들과 아이들은 모두 전문가가 아닌 아마추어로, 3주간 겸손하고 부지런히 기도하는 마음으로 연습하고 드라마 발표를 준비했습니다. 내레이션과 움직임을 통해 표현되는 본 떼오드라마는 본질적으로 그리스도의 몸이 표현합니다.

커뮤니오 2023은 제45차 ACTS선교대회에서 선보인 떼오드라마입니다. Daniel J. Kim 교수의 독창적인 아이디어와 대본, 안무를 기반으로 한 떼오드라마는 9명의 국제 대학원생과 ACTS 교수의 두 딸이 출연했습니다. 참여하는 학생들과 아이들은 모두 전문가가 아닌 아마추어로, 3주간 겸손하고 부지런히 기도하는 마음으로 연습하고 드라마 발표를 준비했습니다. 내레이션과 움직임을 통해 표현되는 본 떼오드라마는 본질적으로 그리스도의 몸이 표현합니다.

The following drama was featured at the Korean M.Div. Chapel by the request of the president and professors. The drama, based on the original idea, script, and choreography by Professor Daniel J. Kim, was performed by 9 international graduate students and 2 daughters of ACTS Professors. The participating students and kids are all amateurs, not professionals, who have humbly and diligently practiced, and prayerfully prepared for this drama presentation. The drama, presented through narration and movements, is in essence the sacramental Word expressed through audible and visual means.
